It was originally planned in storyboards that more blood would be shown in the scene where Shulk is shot. Dickson was planned put his cigar out by throwing it into a pool of Shulk’s blood. In the final game, blood is rarely shown and is not present at all in this scene. Dickson’s cigar is not put out in the final game because of this.
