While the player starts using the default Drifter Class in Xenoblade Chronicles X, their character’s unique ability to change classes comes to light once they reach Class Rank 10 for the first time. While other party members are tied to the class they start with, the player can continuously improve their classes, meaning that many unique weapons and Battle Arts are theoretically available to them throughout the game, if they are willing to pursue the class associated with them. This allows the game to continuously expand the player’s scope of abilities, without burdening them with excessive choices throughout the main gameplay experience.
