we joked about it for so long that we memed it into reality

game journalists think the soundtrack sounds boring because they were awful at getting style ranks because devil may cry 5 has a dynamic soundtrack

for those out of the loop on what a Dynamic Soundtrack is

Devil May Cry 5’s battle music will be a dynamic one and shall
change based on the style rank the player would be on, at the specific
frame of time.

So basically as your character evolves in the game, so will the music
which is a pretty decent feature to use. Adding to this, not only will
the music change, but it would base on the various styles of combo you
use.

the more button mashy and lazy you are… the music will reflect that and be boring, like how you’re playing

but the more stylish and extra you go in completing arranged combos, blocks, and finishers, the game will reward you with the soundtrack befitting your excellence

The reviewers didn’t understand this aspect of the game and rated it as having lackluster music…. because they didn’t play the game as you’re supposed to and just drudged through it or straight up failed at doing anything right

and people were making jokes a few months ago when the Dynamic Music feature was confirmed that Journos would rate the game bad for shitty music because they were shitty at playing it
