Sans and Papyrus’s respective issues can clash badly at times. It’s even harder because they both don’t remember where those issues even came from and really have no idea how to deal with them. They’re just kind of fumbling blindly.
So many echoes from things that don’t exist anymore! Papyrus’s is more positive, and Sans’s have a prettydistincttheme going on. I also wanted to reference this scene but couldn’t quite find a way to fit it in anywhere. So just keep it in mind I guess, haha.
Nothing like settling into a new place and tossing out a bunch of garbage no one cares about!
The brothers have been having fun going through the closet, haha. A lot of what they’re wearinghasbeenseenbefore…
The machine Sans is talking about is the computer in the bedroom, at this point he can’t remember seeing one before. The science journals aren’t actually written in gibberish, they’re just written in super technical jargon that to Sans might as well be gibberish. By “talk the same” Sans means that everyone in Snowdin talks in the same font (Determination Mono). That Pocky and Mew Mew DVD were meant to go to Alphys but now they’re goin IN THE TRASH
Like Gaster, Sans doesn’t write down everything that happens. He does love talking about Papyrus though. Usually Sans is the one curling up around Papyrus but I decided to switch things up for a change of pace.
Asgore’s already seen Sans try to look out for Papyrus, but he wanted to give him this peptalk of sorts because he’s seen before how talking about his low health gets him down (which in itself is residual damage from before), and he wanted to re-emphasize that Sans’s strength or value isn’t determined by his health. Sans thinks about this responsibility a lot from this point on.
We saw a similar SOUL silhouette before with Sans, and now we can see both the brothers! Both their SOULs are unusual. Papyrus wanted to wear something grown-up and mature for heading out on their own, which is something he associates with dark sweaters, for some reason…
Asgore waited until they were both out of sight before going into his empty house to weep quietly, one assumes.
You take your eye off Sans for five minutes and he starts getting into all your traumas! He does love dropping bombshells. Also saying things that make you feel really terrible about what you’ve done.
Spends so much time in there you’d think he was taking notes or something…
Those who want to see Gaster get brutalized have been a bit under-served SO One potential cause of all that screaming, anyway.
This isn’t a literal representation of what’s going on or anything, since these two are in a non-physical plane of existence at the moment. It’s just sort of a way to visualize it in understandable terms? So I wouldn’t take Gaster’s appearance or the monster thumping him around too literally.
