You wanna know what breaks my heart the most about the World of Light trailer?
Shulk sees it happen. Shulk sees EVERYTHING go down seconds before and he turns to everyone, concern and rage in his eyes because he knows there’s no fucking way he’s going to be fast enough. He doesn’t even get a full like out. Not a “Look Out!” or anything line that, he’s able to utter a single grunt before everything goes to shit and it breaks my fucking heart so much. He’s seen so many people die, so many people he loves die because he wasn’t strong enough. And I know for a FUCKING FACT that Shulk probably wanted to scream at them to run and save themselves because he knew they’d die. He knew he wasn’t strong enough, and I bet you for a fact that the SECONDS before he was incinerated he was thinking to himself “I wasn’t strong enough to save anyone.”
JUST LOOK AT HIS FACE CHANGE WHEN HE SEES THE VISION. He turns as quickly as he can to warn them but he was too late and it cost everyone their lives. I know there might’ve been worse parts for other people, but I’ve been playing Xeno games since I was young, and Shulk is a very important character in my life, and him being able to see everything happen but not be able to help at all breaks my heart so much.
